Guitars On Parade!

Guitars on Parade kicks off this weekend with the Streets Alive outdoor art festival on Mississaga St. between West and Brewery Bay. From 10am - 5pm on Saturday, 50 big painted guitars will be on display on the street. Jowi Taylor will be there with his famous guitar from his amazing project Six String Nation. Manticore will be selling his book in front of the store! Come and see this moving peice of Canadian culture come to life.

Leacock Memorial Medal For Humour Winner
Mark Leiren-Young's memoir Never Shoot a Stampede Queen is the 2009 winner of the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour. The Vancouver based writer and film-maker tells his own tale as a rookie reporter in Williams Lake, British Columbia.
